As educators, we understand the practice of teaching and the learning process. This knowledge provides insight into the everyday experiences of learners and what needs to occur to create a personalized learning space design  This knowledge allows us to build relationships with educators because we understand and empathize with their experiences and provide evidenced ways to support their teaching methods.

APPLYING EVIDENCE BASED DESIGN

As researchers, our investigations are grounded in Evidence Based Design. Our past and current research provides insight in to how learning environments function and how to organize places to support the manner in which learners acquire knowledge. From the research, recommendations are provided which have led to learning space designs where students are inspired and motivated to learn and most importantly, enjoy being in school every day.

Building on the recommendations, an educational space program is prepared that embodies the soul, the mission and vision, of each setting in the learning environment.  Whether a module classroom, renovation of an existing building, or new construction, we have been able to create activity based learning space design that supports the everyday experiences of learners.
